OUR IMPACT
New Batch started at Our Thaltej Evening Study Centre
Shwas in collaboration with KarmaKonnect attempts to provide a safe and healthy environment to children coming from disadvantaged families so that they can openly share the challenges they face that hold them back from aspiring their dreams and work towards achieving them.
The evening study centre program caters to low-income and slum kids around Ahmedabad and from diverse socio-cultural backgrounds. In addition to providing complete supplementary education to kids, they create an environment to harness a child’s creative nature and to gain knowledge out of their experience. They wish to give them their rights and want to create a better India. With the focus of building healthy communities, they plant values of love, compassion and empathy through storytelling, prayers, meditation and act of sharing.
KarmaKonnect also assists Shwas to enrol potential students into a private school to ensure continuous quality education. The project aims at strengthening the public education system by complementing resources to ensure comprehensive learning and development of children
Project Challenges
The objective is to build and adopt a model of local empowerment by employing women educators from the slum community to impart education, civic sense and life skills to these young kids, who often give up on education due to the low-quality Govt. school infrastructure.
Results & Outcome
We achieve our goals through careful planning and consultation, constant review and the employment of professional tools like quantitative targets and time schedules. Most of the signature initiatives of the program came up through interaction with the kids and the teachers; accordingly, they are based on a common-sense approach to the issues involved.
We accomplish this through daily lessons, interactive play, Videos & Picture learning methods

Shwas is an effort started by a group of volunteers to educate the underprivileged kids of Gulbai Tekra, Ahmedabad since the year 2009. We attempt to provide a safe and healthy environment to children coming from disadvantaged families so that they can openly share with us the challenges they face that hold them back from aspiring their dreams.
We teach kids every day for two hours. Our focus is value-based education, which includes teaching manners, inculcating a sense of hygiene and helping them to follow and fulfil their dreams. We also enrol potential students in a private school to ensure continuous quality education.
