The project aims at strengthening public education system by complementing resources to ensure comprehensive learning and development of children.

The objective is to build synergy between the school and the other stakeholders, mainly the local community.

• Shiksharth plans to reach out to students in conflict prone, challenging and tough areas where regular schooling is not accessible.

• It has devised a unique workbook which shall help the students understand their lessons and math problems in the absence of regular classes.

• These workbooks contain language questions, Math worksheets, puzzles, activities and creative tasks.

• Shilsharth’s goal is to reach 1.00,000 students and replicate these kits in Delhi, Odisha, Maharasthra (Gadchiroli), Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Assam.

• This is a simple and non-expensive effort which has a larger Impact in regions that need it the most.

Project Challenges

The Challenges faced are as follows:

  • • 770 out of 1048 schools and 27000+ children are officially offline in Sukma, Chhatisgarh- a Naxal affected remote region.
  • • However as per our on-ground analysis only less than 10% children have access to any kind of online learning opportunity, due to several issues ranging from access to electricity, network coverage, inaccessible remote villages and difficult geography.
  • • Due to the ongoing naxal issue, the region remains conflict prone. In such a case, regular schooling is near to impossible for the school going children.
  • • As a result, students here are unable to pursue their studies in proper manner. They are facing many issues in comprehending daily lessons and making effective progress.

Results & Outcome

Volunteers and supportive teachers came forward and supported the initiative:

  • • KarmaKonnect supported Shiksharth Offline Learning Kits initiative.
  • • Shiksharth Offline Learning Kits are workbooks for school children which contain contextualized combination of language and Math worksheets, puzzles, activities and creative tasks.
  • • These kits would make sure the gap in schooling is filled and children are engaged in the learning process.
  • • So far around 7100 learning kits have been distributed to 4900 children from the remotest villages of the district with help of community volunteers and supportive teachers.
